Welcome
Chika Unigwe was born in Nigeria in 1974. She is the author of four novels, The Phoenix (2007), On Black Sisters' Street (2009), Night Dancer (2012) and The Black Messiah (2013, published only in Dutch translation so far). She has also written numerous short stories and essays.

She has received many awards and distinctions, including the 2012 NLNG Prize for her novel On Black Sisters' Street.
